In order to utilize your insurance, Check Your Compass has to demonstrate to the insurance company that there is a medical necessity for you to receive mental health counseling. In other words, the insurance company is only interested in providing counseling to you if your issues are affecting your mental health.

For instance, the insurance company does not care about the communication in your marriage unless the lack of communication is producing high levels of anxiety or depression.

If we can not demonstrate medical necessity for your counseling, you would need to pay out-of-pocket to receive services. Medical necessity is determined on your first visit for counseling with us. You would not be responsible to pay for this initial assessment visit.
